Every student is required to have a costume to participate in chorus, and come to concerts wearing their complete costume (pearls, bow ties, etc.). Failure to do so may result in your child not performing, and thus receiving a failing grade for that concert.
There are several ways for your student to obtain their costume:
Costume Fair
SAA Choral Boosters hosts a Costume Fair at the start of school each year. The dates and times will be announced on the Homepage, the SAA Chorus Facebook page, and by email.
Gently used costumes are available for purchase, or, if you can’t find one that fits, we’re happy to measure you for a new one. Payment will be expected at the event, and we’ll even place the order on your behalf!
As a special bonus, if you have paid your current year’s dues you’ll receive free shipping on your order.
Please note – we strongly urge you to purchase your costume at the Costume Fair so that you can be properly measured, and also be sure that your costume arrives in time for the concert season. Also, be aware that dresses and pants come from the manufacturer rather long in order to fit a variety of body types. Dresses and men’s pants come unhemmed. Hemming to the proper length is the responsibility of the individual, and not the manufacturer, SAA or Boosters.
Purchase directly from the manufacturer
All costumes must be purchased from Formal Fashions.
While you are welcome to do this on your own, we recommend instead that you purchase your costume as part of the Costume Fair so that we can ensure that your child is accurately measured, and that your order is placed in a timely manner.
Women

- Tuxedo Pants: style 6502 adjustable pant
- Tie: style 8250RA
- Men’s pants come unhemmed, and hemming to the proper length is the responsibility of the individual chorister.
Both men’s and women’s costumes should be worn with black dress shoes, not sneakers, Toms or crocs.
VOX
Vox Costumes must be ordered as a batch from the manufacturer – they will not process individual orders. Students in Vox are measured and billed for their costumes in late spring of the previous year or early fall of their current year.
